FRAME OF MIND
“Mera har sheir hai Akhtar meri zinda tasweer!
Dekhney walo ney har lafz may dekha hai mujhe!”
I believe in the power of ‘Now’ – wherever you are, be there totally!
What I am trying to say is the energy of an action is held in its intention, and my deepest and sincerest intention is to be used for a higher purpose than my self. The point is to do something for the betterment of the human race.
I still have the same child like enthusiasm that I had, when I was the student of six class in the year 1989. I always had tremendous confidence. I consider myself exclusive in every way! In the way I think, the way I behave, and the way I address masses.
I start my day with prayer in the early morning. To me, spirituality is right as rain and fit as a fiddle-Yes, I can not cross the ocean of life without embarking at the ship of spiritualism. Because every gain on the earth ends at the point of death. But beyond the point of death nothing ends, so we should use our all powers to be succeeded hereafter.
I am also extremely optimistic. I can not stay depressed for more than a few minutes. And I am impulsive and intuitive too. When I set my mind about doing something, I just go ahead and do it without thinking about the consequences. I am rather fearless. I have the strength to take chances because I fiercely believe that if something has to workout, it definitely will.
My food habits have been very typical over the years. I was always a frugal eater, relishing food like Sabji, Dal, Chatni, Machhli, Roti, Chawal. I rarely eat at restaurants unless I am entertaining some guests. Otherwise I prefer to eat at home.
I am emotional about my family – my father, my mother, my sister, my brothers, but not very demonstrative. When at home, I don’t like to be disturbed when reading or working, and I don’t disturb others, when they are busy. I hardly remember birthdays, and don’t care if no one remembers mine.
As a child, I was always humbled and fascinated by my father’s staunch belief in humanity. He is a humanist and believed that anything that divided mankind is wrong. My father taught me to understand the meaning of honesty, integrity, morality, sincerity etc.
My mother was very tight fisted when it comes to money. If I were to ask father for Rs. 100, he would give me Rs. 110, but when I asked mother for Rs. 100, I got Rs. 50. She still reprimands me if I spend too much. Like all mothers, she is very concerned about what I eat, what I wear and why I am going out. In fact, if she overdoes it at times. Then I have to tell here very gently, “Ammi, tell me, what other works are pending at your hand, what should I do?” I really admire her organisational skills and she is my best blessing and will always be an integral part of my life.
I feel that women are the gentler creation of God, ornaments of society and have to be protected. Sometimes, I feel good in the company of industrious and intelligent woman and grasp valuable suggestions from them.
Finally, let me say without any septicism that success and failure are never eternal as long as we know our duties. Social and intellectual associations has given me additional impetus to keep moving forward ………
